Commercial Dog Walker Permits
Dog walkers interested in conducting a business on Marin County Open Space District (MCOSD) lands must obtain a commercial use permit. To apply for a permit for professional dog walking, download and read the following:
Required Documents
Applicants must complete and submit all required documents and fees to Marin County Parks, 1600 Los Gamos Drive, Suite 275, San Rafael, CA, 94903, Attention: Gabe Ngarangad. Make sure to complete, sign, and date documents as needed. An incomplete permit application package cannot be processed.
- Conditions Agreement
- Permit Application
- Current business license from the County of Marin or another city or town located within Marin County
- Commercial general liability insurance
- Additional insured endorsement
- Certificate of completion from:
Marin Pet Care Association Trail Manners class
- or -
DogBiz Dog Walking Academy dog walker workshop - Required fees
Insurance Requirements
Applicants shall provide proof that they have current commercial general liability insurance. Please review these documents below. We recommend sharing them with your insurance provider.
Meeting With MCOSD
Within 30 days of receipt of all required documents, the MCOSD staff will review the documents and contact the applicant to arrange an in-person meeting to:
- Discuss permit rules, regulations, and conditions
- Provide a copy of approved application
- Supply applicant with identification vest(s)
