Lagoon Park

This lush 10-acre park is part of the Civic Center campus designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

Rangers Recommend

Travel an easy access path circling the lagoon, popular with joggers and strollers.
Bring lunch, or get a snack from the nearby twice weekly farmers' market.
Enjoy the avian show. Several species of ducks, geese, and shorebirds make their home here.
Try your luck at pole fishing from the shore.
While you're here, visit the Marin Center art gallery, or tour Civic Center.
Friendly dogs on leash are welcome in the park.

Know Before You Go

Please don't feed birds or other wildlife. Observe quietly from a distance.
No water contact. Lagoon is not maintained for people or pets.
No swimming, boating, or floatables in the lagoon.
Don't release domestic turtles or amphibians into the lagoon. They can injure native species.

Respect park rules to make your visit safe and enjoyable.

Be courteous and respectful of others. Parents and guardians are responsible for helping children observe park rules.
Dogs must be on a leash. Leash must not exceed 6 feet in length.
No dogs or other pets in the playground, with the exception of dogs trained and used as service animals, as defined by the American with Disabilities Act.
Individuals accompanying dogs are required to clean up and dispose of pet waste.
Keep the park clean and litter-free. Use garbage cans provided, scoop dog poop, and carry out all your belongings.
Be peaceful. Loud noise and amplified music are not allowed.
No smoking, no open fires. Use BBQs responsibly.
No camping or overnight parking.
No firearms or weapons of any kind.
No operating or landing aircraft of any kind, including drones.
Motorized vehicles are not allowed, except Power-Driven Mobility Devices (OPDMD) per Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Permits are required for any commercial use, through County of Marin Cultural Services.
Do not approach, follow, or feed wildlife.
